My Work Tenure Can Legally Drink Now

Today is my eighteenth work anniversary.

At 18 years, my tenure here can drive, vote, and drink alcohol in the UK. So it’s a milestone of sorts, I guess.

This year there isn’t really any updated numbers to run down. In a few months I’ll be moving offices again, back to one I’d been in previously, but other than that, not much has changed on the work front.

The world keeps changing though, and what I’m doing day to day slowly shifts along with it. Some of what I’m doing now is the exact same as last year. Some of it’s completely new. That mix is probably why I still enjoy it, because it changes over time, and every day, every month, can end up a little different and a little the same all at once.

So I’m still sitting here retrospecting on how I blinked and ended up at 18 years somewhere. Never done that before. Probably won’t do it again.

But yeah, it’s been interesting. Here’s to some more. I’d like to say here’s to another 18, but let’s face it, I hope to be able to retire before that.
