I was actually going to start writing an offline journal again on march 3rd. that was the day my niece was born. This was my sisters first child, and so I am an uncle for the first time. Like I stated in an earlier post I used to write stuff like this and just save them to a file.

So I have a niece. Morgan Lilly! She was born in my opinion on the coolest birth day I can think of. March 3, 2003 or 03-03-03. or how my dad puts it 3-3-3. Either way cool! She is also a picies, and so am I so that is also cool. Morgan was late and my sister was going to induce on 3/4, so it was kind of funny that she was born when she did. I was quite pissed that I could not be at the hospital, but work obligations keep me. It was not like I was having a kid! I was also getting over a cold so I really didnít want to be too close to a new born. I finally got to see her that Thursday. I was forced to wear a mask and look all stupid in all the pictures. She is so small. I cant wait till she gets a bit older to take her places.

I have bad, not so good, or non-existent memories of my uncles. One we never saw. He was always nice, but we never saw him or my aunt. The other was just an moron, so I plan on being there for the little Morgan. I still don’t know what to get from the dam baby registry. I got a big stuffed animal, but I was not allowed to get a life size one so I got something that comes up to my waste. What do you get for a new born that they wont grow out of or forget about later anyway? I think the cool gifts come at age 3-7.

Well last week I was able to go back and hold her without a mask. It is cool just sitting there with her sleeping on your shoulder. All is right with the universe then! I also had to show my sister and brother in law how to use their digital camera and setup a web site. Well I got the camera setup, but no time to show them the website.

I missed seeing the baby today (3-22-03). I just got up when I got a call from my dad telling me that she and my sister were over at there house. I need to get over there to give them the stuffed animal.

Wow, it is after 11pm. I didn’t know it was so late. I am off to bed. My hands are hurting from all this typing and mouse clicking. More tomorrow.

I guess most people have tons of posts the first time the do this, and then they get fewer and fewer posts per day. Well since this is new to me and I want to get this going, here is yet another post.

I have updated the blogger template to throw the stupid made on a mac icon in there! Now that I know how to modify this template, I can customize it later on. At this stage of the blog I figure I should tell people a bit about myself (even though I donít know who in there right mind would be reading this if they didnít already know me). I am 29 (at the time of this post), I work in the technology field. I guess that means I know a bit about computers. Not to give my whole life history in this post, I will save the other details to later. So I am sitting here on my powerbook writing this blog on a Saturday night. Lame! But I was so tired from work, and going out after work that I decided to just stay in. Tomorrow I am going to a party at my friend rich & Amandaís house. They are throwing an academy award party. Not sure what to expect, but it should be fun. Amanda is a set designer for movies and TV shows. Art designer? Amanda if you are reading this please correct me, and forgive any errorsJ But anyway because of that they are throwing a party for the awards. My thinking is any excuse to get together with friends and have a few drinks is just fine by me.

Today I worked a bit. I preparing to do some major data moves at work. Then I updated quicken, did some shopping and just vegged out in front of the tivo watching stuff I missed this week. I also began to build myself a red hat Linux box at home. I did say I was into computers. The world of Linux and UNIX is something that I have not done much of yet, and I would like to. I finally have a computer to put red hat on and just leave it up. I will give away that I can be considered a computer ìgeekî by the fact that I have a windows 2000 server, red hat server, windows xp desktop, & a mac laptop at home. Sounds excessive, but each has its own function. Really they do! That does not count all the equipment at work. I have come to the conclusion that I will die from the em fields coming off this stuff, so why does one more computer matter!

more setup stuff

Ok, this thing seems to be working. Not a huge fan of the fact that blogger.com has my posts, but the idea is not to put anything too crazy on these things. So that means I will, and live to regret it later. The idea of an online journal is great. I used to do a daily journal thing and save them in word. But that was years ago and I got lazy about it. I think I also wrote a whole note pad of stuff on my trip cross country, but that was ages ago and on paper. I am going to post this now just to make sure it gets updated…

Ok, hosting your own website may seem like fun at first, but fixing problems can be a pain. I am trying to update my home page image in fireworks and I can’t seem to mount my windows server with my mac. The whole concept of using the mac all the time is out the window now. I had to break out the “company” thinkpad. Of course fireworks is still not working. On the upside this blogging is starting out to be pretty cool. No spell checker on this thing so my bad spelling will be a highlight of this site!

OK, spoke too soon. I somehow got my powerbook to see the dam windows share. Not sure what I did, but it worked. Actually I have a very good idea what I did, but I don’t want to get too technical. I just have to check to make sure the site is updated. And it is. Cool. I have neglected this website for some time. Work has been crazy. Of course when is it not. This blog may be the excuse to spend some time keeping this site looking nice.
