Padington Bear Smuggling

Amelia may have some shady activities going on that we don’t know about.  She loves to take her Paddington Bear stuffed animal out of her room.  We don’t like either of the girls taking their favorite sleep time animals out of the room for fear they get even more attached to them.  In my mind this is justified by the fact that both girls attempt to take them all over.

Teagan has gotten better about leaving her favorite monkey in her room.  Amelia will take her Paddington out and act all nonshelont about it till she gets caught.  Other times she will be sneaky in a way only a 1 1/2 year old can pull off.  Recently I have caught her smuggling Paddington out of her room in a small bag she uses as her “pocket book”.  i love that she thinks she can pull a fast one on us, however I am wondering were she is getting all these ideas from.  I am curious what kind of side activities are going on in those toddler meet ups?

Cheers

Favorite quote today.  The setup.  Amelia needed a teething ring and Teagan wanted one also.  They both got them and Teagan tapped her ring to Amelia’s and says “cheers”.

The Art of Dipping

I came home early from work today and was able to eat dinner with the girls.  They had chicken nuggets.  Well we call them chicken nuggets but they are the Morningstar Farms Veggi nuggets.  MC & I have showed the girls how to dip food into sauces like BBQ & Mustard.  Neither of the girls have been interested in it.

T’s First Ice Cream Cone

We have been bad parents up until today.  We have kept T in a bubble and not introduced her to ice cream cones.  She has had cake and cookies and even ice cream but never the cone.  Today we sought out Haggen Das and corrected that discrepancy.  By all accounts chocolate ice cream on a cone was a hit.

Amelia and I on the other hand had frozen yogurt.

Kids Quotes of The Day 24-May

At dinner T asks “daddy you like cake? “. My response “yes”.  T asks “Mommy you like cake?”  M’s reply “yes I like cake”. T’s response “I like cake too”.  I then realize our family is very focused around cake.  One might say too much however I am not saying that.

Earlier in the day: A to T “thank you” as she gives Teagan a toy.

Rainy Day at The Mall

Today we were going to goto the Zoo.  It was pretty nasty out when we got up so we opted for an inside activity instead.  We decided to goto the Queens Mall.

We took the subway over and walked around a bit.  I got my mom her mothers day gift.  We then went to the food court and let the kids play in the indoor play area.  They always love running around and playing on the toy car’s.

After that we went to one of the only sit down restaurants in the mall for lunch, Applebee’s.  I am not typically a fan of their food however both times we went to the one in the mall it hasn’t been busy for lunch and they are pretty kid friendly.  The girls had a good time and the food was decent.  We were even able to be home in time for some semblance of a nap for both girls.

We didn’t do anything special in the afternoon after nap time so it was a good rest of the day inside.

Mothers Day Weekend

Mothers Day this year happened to be MC’s birthday.  We spent the weekend at her parents place.  We hadn’t seen them since late March when we were in Tanpa.

It was a good weekend.  The girls got quality time with some grandparents.  I got a ton of really good photos.  I took over 900 and was only able to waddle them down to about 170 before I gave up.

Teagan had cake twice and didn’t get sick in the car.  All in all a great weekend.  The kids had ice cream cake for the first time.  It was done right MC’s mom got a carvel cake.  Mmm crunch stuff between vanilla and chocolate.

Only down side for me was I had a mild migraine most of Sunday.  I am thankful it didn’t blow up into a really debilitating head ache.
